. . . So. It was an empty container sitting on the cord to my mouse. It took me a full twenty-four hours to realize this. I am SO awesome.

Homo frogs?!

CAN'T SLEEP. SOMETHING IN THE WALLS.

sobbbb wtf is this noise. I've been hearing it for an hour or two. It's like someone's in the next room bouncing one of those toy bouncey balls kids get ONLY THE ROOM IS EMPTY 8( And the only other person awake is my brother who's way on the other side of the house using the laptop. I CHECKED. TWICE. And then I made him come check it out and of course the noise fucking stops.

AND THEN IT STARTED AGAIN. 8( And ffff what if there is something in the wall. It sounds like it stays in the same basic area; the section of interior wall just behind the computer desk. How do I even get in there to get it out. WHAT IF IT BURSTS OUT WHILE I'M SLEEPING AND EATS ME. I bet there's a hundred scary movies that start out like this. First it's things scuttling around in the walls that only you can hear, and then you've feet sticking out the ceiling and undead cats busting out of the cupboards and trying to claw your eyes out.

I will probably collapse for sleep soon anyway, but I bet I have nightmares because of this. sob I am going to sleep on the couch

You FINISH UP D<

COMPUTERS ARE THE DEVIL

sob okay. MY COMPUTER IS TURNING ON ME. SO I AM CALLING ON YOU FLIST TO HELP ME OUT. Or at least sympathize with me or something. It started a while ago when I began complained that "zomg firefox keeps freezing on me DDD<". BECAUSE IT DID. :| So I updated to the new version of firefox (v3) which made it WORSE. And after that I downloaded a neat little extension that Stelas suggested which did briefly help! But then it got worse again. So I downloaded an older version of firefox thinking "well maybe my computer is just OLD so i will live with browser freezing a little rather than a lot." GOT FED UP WITH THAT PRETTY QUICK.

Next I looked into new browsers and noticed Flock is basically Firefox, but not! So I got that, and then it got EVEN WORSE. Not only is the browser freezing now, so is everything else. Any animation I try to watch in the browser is jerky -- it sort of has tiny little skips every second or so. Usually it'll freeze the browser after a minute or two watching. The browser freezes A LOT. So does irc, sometimes the entire computer freezes. It can last a few seconds to a few minutes. Sometimes the windows switch at random on me. It is like my computer has seizures.

Since changing to flock and realizing it's THE COMPUTER I have done virus scans, defrags, and just now I tried to do a system restore to before I noticed the problems but none of the checkpoints I tried would work. They all came back saying "HAHA NO RESTORE FOR YOU" in computer talk. I have no idea what to do about this now. I mean, I am gonna spend tomorrow googling all the processes I spot running in my task manager to see if any of them is causing the problem, but I would REALLY REALLY REALLY love any other ideas that anyone might have. 'cause I am tired of having two tabs open and worrying about the fucking computer deciding to have some kind of spasm.

trufax: It froze like five times just while I was writing this post.

ETA OF OH YEAH: Computer is a PC running on Windows XP

Today was going to be a good day. Then me and my brother flipped out at each other. Awesome.

One day we will move out and never speak with each other again. I should feel sadder about this, but I really don't.

Am on crappy laptop and wireless, hooray! Apparently some of the campgrounds we're stopping at will have free wireless, but I have no idea which ones will. This one's pretty good though.

THINGS I HAVE LEARNED:
-Praying mantis...es? They're fucking ninjas of the bug world. All flipping out and through the air and clinging up on the walls and ceilings.
-Brother dear thinks smoking at gas stations is an okay and safe thing to do.
-It's really fucking hot in Arizona.
-Sharing a laptop with six people is difficult
-Mom is fussy that I called her laptop crappy |<

Blahlahblah am wasting time while we decide what to do today since we'e stuck here til tomorrow morning. \o/

SO OKAY. I AM MOVING at some vague point in the next month. Or two. It keeps getting moved back for various bureaucratic reasons with the place my dad's transferring to. BUT THAT IS NOT THE POINT OF THIS POST. See, last Thursday my mom left to go meet up with my dad in Texas so they could go househunting. Which they apparently hadn't done yet for whatever reason. This post is about the epic story of just what happened when she left.

IT IS AN EPIC TALE OF WOE AND STRESS )

And that was my week and how my mother leaving clearly placed a curse on the house.

A timeline

One year ago: "We'll probably keep this house forever."
Nine months ago: "Oh there's a possibility we might move to Texas."
Six-Seven months ago: "Oh we'll have to move to L.A. in a year or so for reasons."
Some time later: "We still want to go to Texas. Or Florida."
Three months ago: THINGS HAPPEN
Also three months ago. ish: "TOTALLY GOING TO L.A. NOW"
Month and a half ago: "LOOK AT THIS BADASS HOUSE AND COMMUNITY IN L.A."
Two days ago: "Oh honey we're moving to Texas now look at this cool house"

WHAT NEXT FAMILY. WHAT NEXT.

I am not actually sure what I think of this yet since for all I know they'll turn around and go "FOOLED YOU" in a month or two. sobsobmylife

SO THAT VIDEO GOING AROUND IS GREAT. This is not that video, although it is really cool to watch. It's one of Marilyn Manson's songs translated into sign language, and the guy doing it is really expressive and into it. You gotta wait about a minute for the actual song to start though. Click iiiit.

TO DO

1. A million and one essays for CFUD characters.
2. Check out value of a million and one items on e-bay and other places.
3. Measure everything in room to plan layout of new room.
4. Clean everything ever.
5. Feed siblings. Possibly siblings' friends.
6. Do whatever it is I've forgotten.
7. Make a cake.
8. Figure out what the hell the dog wants.

And yet all I want to do is sleep.

HELLO FROM LA

gihgklfs omgwtf LA pedestrians. PEOPLE WALKING OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GODDAMN STREET. I keep thinking we're gonna hit one of these idiots. I swear one guy came half a step from stepping right into our path. 8( And there was the horrible driver that would have lane-shifted right into the side of our car without realizing it if my mother hadn't blared the horn at her.

But anyway! We went driving around to look at this neighborhood over in Long Beach we've been considering for the move into. It's a goddamn nice neighborhood too. All gated and the landscaping is amazing and it has a pool and billiards and sports courts~ And the one we were looking at is brand new with like four bedrooms and a fuckton of space. Not as much storage room, but we can keep the things we actually use without any trouble. \o/ And putting up a shed outside will let us store christmas/winter junk. Parents are excited about it and I think it's cool, so! |D We also found this awesome Thai place on the way back. Real sweet and sour pork! None of that fakey battered junk with neon pink sweet sauce. It will be delicious lunch tomorrow. Still here for a couple of days, but if that's the standard fare here I will suffer through it and its crazy drivers and pedestrians.

ETA: My habit of mumbling at the computer is rather awkward now that my parents are in the same room.

BITCH BITCH WHINE WHINE

uggghhh what is with this time of month. I SHOULDN'T WHINE. I DON'T GET PAIN but I do get pretty awful exhaustion to make up for it. For example: I needed to make a phone call this morning. The phone is maybe twenty feet away in the other room. About halfway to it, it suddenly seemed like a good idea to stop and lay down on the floor because I was just that goddamn exhausted. It's not like sleepiness! It's just this feeling of "ugh time to lay down now." It usually isn't this bad, but auuugggh so tired. I've got an appointment with the doctor next week for unrelated stuff, but I think I'll mention this during the visit. This can't be normal stuff.

I'm going to go lay in bed now and hope I feel more energetic later.

EEEEEEE 8D

SO. TODAY STARTED OFF HORRIBLY. Like I barely slept and sorta zoned out most of the morning doing nothing, then when it came time to start getting dressed I realized I'd left my chef jacket in the washing machine over night. 8( LUCKILY it dried thoroughly in the fifteen minutes I had left, but it was a little nervewracking! And I never did get the recipe I needed from my teammate (who told me in class HE'D READ THE EMAILS but apparently had decided not to respond to any of them for whatever reason. Ass.)

So then I almost missed the bus! Awesome. And it was packed full so I got to balance two heavy cake layers in an awkward box for an hours. 8( Although I did get a laugh when the "Your Love is Smallpox" song came on my iPod, and at that exact moment the pin through my guts line played, the elderly woman beside me sloooowly turned her head in my direction. I have no idea if she could hear it or not, but the timing was awesome.

Anyway! Class went fairly well. The mocha cookies turned out completely differently from the way they had at home. I dunno what happened there. You guys should tell me how they came out when you did the recipe so I can compare things~ My teammate did show up, still without a recipe, but he made a tart that didn't suck at least.

But. Guys. 8D That strawberry cake turned out to be the best dish in the class. They're gonna put it in the permanent school recipe book and everything. I AM SO HAPPY.
